The St. Barnabas Adult Choir is comprised of singers 16 years of age and older. The choir's purpose is to support the congregation in singing hymns at mass on Sunday. The music at St. Barnabas is a blend of traditional and contemporary.
We use the Hymnal 1982 for traditional hymns, and selections from various sources for contemporary music. The choir sings both a cappella and to the accompaniment of the organ or piano. Anyone who enjoys making a joyful noise unto the Lord is welcome!
They rehearse prior to service on Sunday mornings at 9:15 a.m.
A group of church members meet bi-weekly to clean and tidy up the church, which enhances the beauty of our place of worship and makes it more welcoming. They sweep, dust, mop and clean. This volunteer team rolls up its sleeves to work, while enjoying laughter and fellowship as they work alongside each other.
Our Lawn Team consists of volunteers who maintain the approximately 5-acre grounds of the church property. Volunteers donate whatever time they have to mowing, edging and weeding the grounds. We have been blessed with several donated riding lawnmowers and other tools. They meet bi-weekly as needed on Saturday mornings to plug in their headphones and enjoy the outdoors, while keeping our grounds beautiful.
INTERCESSORY PRAYER TEAM
Our intercessors meet biweekly on Saturday mornings at 8 a.m-9 a.m. to pray for the needs of our church. They also are available to pray for the specific needs of parishioners during Communion in the back of the church.
COVENANT PRAYER GROUP
In Paul's letter to the Philippians we are reminded, "do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God (4:6). "
The Covenant Prayer Group is a team of church members who have made a commitment to pray consistently for St. Barnabas. Our congregation is encouraged to submit prayer requests knowing that we have a dedicated team willing to lift their needs up to the Lord. We have seen the Holy Spirit move clearly in our church and we believe this is due in part to our commitment to prayer. If there is anything weighing on your mind or heart, please let us know. Using this form you can send us an email allowing us to uphold you in prayer.
We read names aloud on Sunday and Friday mornings, and both Fr. Petta as well as the Covenant Prayer Group will keep you in their prayers daily. If you wish to have your prayers remain private, among only the Covenant Prayer Group and Fr. Petta, please indicate your intentions.
