We come as we bring ourselves and others to connect with God through the transforming love of Jesus Christ. The service on Sunday morning serves to connect us with God through worship and to provide children’s education and a time of fellowship for adults as we meaningfully connect with one another. There is also a service on the quiet of Friday mornings that provides for an opportunity to end the week in praise and worship.
We grow in the character of Jesus through our primary vehicle; Growth Groups throughout the week. Additionally, the men’s group on Saturdays and some new women’s ministry are available. I cannot emphasize how excited I am about our Growth Groups and preaching series this fall as we explore God and connect in study one to another. Both will serve to focus intentionally upon our own discipleship and that of making other disciples. After Thanksgiving, we will begin again in late January with our Growth Groups choosing from topical studies; such as Bible Studies, parenting studies, and Alpha. All great opportunities to meet the relevant needs of ourselves and the community around us. Groups are filling fast, so email the church office to choose the day of the week you can come!
We have some amazing opportunities for our kids after church too! After service, they will engage God’s Word on Sunday mornings while you connect with others. We will have two main events in the fall and spring. Our fall events include a Pet Blessings and All Saints’ Sunday Festival, and each month we will have a children’s sermon. Our youth will also continue to meet and connect on Sunday evenings.
We go as we reach out into our community and world, putting all that Jesus taught into practice. As part of our going Saint Barnabas has a partnership with the Diocese of Northern Malawi and the children’s home, La Gran Familia and other missionaries and mission agencies. And, we will engage in mission locally as we partner with Aventine Apartments among a few other outreach opportunities in the fall and spring. Keep an eye out for these as well!
I have never been quite so excited to start a fall as this year. For we truly have something for everyone. We have something timeless, unwavering, a gem to share, and we now have strategic vehicles by which to do it. All that is required is your partnership! And the main area that you can do so is by making time to grow in discipleship yourself. Be intentional this fall, and invest in yourself, your family, and the future of Saint Barnabas!
