This opportunity is one that enables us to put our mission statement to the test as we, as disciples or followers of Jesus, enroll others to discover the hope we have within us. God brings the growth and moves hearts, but we play a vital role. The role of the Church has been and continues to be focused upon reaching the lost, building the found, and instructing individuals on how to discover the fulness of life that God intended by following and putting into practice all that Jesus taught and commanded. That is why the Church exists, and you and I are a vital link in helping others come to discover it.
The upcoming series is one that assists toward that end. Yet, its success is in your hands. It requires boldness and vulnerability to reach out to others. In doing we also grow in our own faith as we reflect upon what God has done and is doing in our lives, in addition to articulating His goodness toward us to those around us. It is far more than merely being about numbers or growing our church. Reaching others for the Kingdom is about our own soul’s health and that of others.
As we approach this big day, we need your help! There are two very practical things you can do. The first is pray! Prayer calendars are linked in the Encourager and in the church to assist you as we prepare for this series in the weeks to come. Also, continue to pray for those you will invite. Prayer paves the way before anything happens. Nothing happens without it! Secondly, act! Invite at least 3 people. Use a postcard, direct them to the website, www.stbarnabas.us, where they can find info and a video trailer about the series. You may guide them to our social media outlets, such as Facebook, https://www.facebook.com/saintbarnabasanglicanfortworth/ . All are opportunities to assist you.
The results are in God’s hands, but the invitation is in ours! My prayer for our church this month has been for a boldness and excitement to partner in what the Lord is always doing, calling those who don’t know Him or seeking those who have fallen away back to Himself through Jesus Christ. I pray that we all grow as we put our faith in action and reflect upon what God is doing in our lives as we reach out to others!
