Amidst busy schedules and calendars, intentionality is needed to order our days. Otherwise, they become quickly ordered by the most pressing need or looming event, game, or deadline. It is easy to get swept away by all of the events of life that we barely have time for worship on Sunday, let alone times for growth in the character of Christ during the rest of the week.
I’d like to both invite and challenge you to regain control this fall. Be intentional in how you order your days and that of your family. Choose to put God first in your calendar, deciding to block out time for you and your family to grow more like Jesus through spending with Him. Your church is here to help, and has many offerings to assist you.
This Sunday we will have an opportunity to hear about the vision God has given to grow, support, and connect in meaningful fellowship with others who have the same goal of daily being transformed more like Jesus by the work of the Holy Spirit in their lives. We look forward to Sunday School, Fall Children’s Events, Growth Groups, Women’s and Men’s Fellowship, and a preaching series in addition to ways to serve and reach out to the community around us.
Come and see what God is doing at Saint Barnabas. Discover how to further grow in your faith through discipleship. Take the time to schedule it in, or they will be sure to be overrun by other commitments. Be intentional at the start of this new school year by making the most important investment in your life and that of your family by spending time with the Lord and growing in a knowledge and love of Him. I look forward to seeing you Sunday and don’t forget to bring your calendar!
